2. A Dog’s Purpose (2017)

This touching movie, based on a book by W. Bruce Cameron, is guaranteed to bring you to tears while taking you on the journey of a dog’s reincarnations, showing everyone what his true purpose in life is.

3. Lady and the Tramp (1955)

This classic Disney movie will always be remembered for its iconic spaghetti kiss scene — which surprisingly almost didn’t make the final cut.

4. The Secret Life of Pets (2016)

It’s hard not to wonder what your pets do while you’re at work — which is why this fun animated movie (from the creators of Despicable Me) is one you won’t want to miss.

This Wes Anderson movie takes place in the fictional Japanese city of Megasaki, at a time when every dog is exiled after a canine flu outbreak. The story follows a determined 12-year-old boy who sets off on a crazy adventure to bring back his dog, Spots.

7. Dog Days (2018)

This romantic comedy starring Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, and Eva Longoria was just released this past summer, showcasing a bunch of dog owners whose lives end up intertwined thanks to their pups.

8. Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993)

When two dogs and a cat get can’t come on their family’s vacation, they worry they’ve been left behind and go on a wild journey to find their owners again.

9. All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989)

This animated musical follows a dog who is killed and decides to skip out on heaven in order to come back to Earth, get revenge, and help out an orphan girl.

It’s hard to break the bond between a dog and his owner — even when they’re physically separated, as in this movie where a family is forced to sell their beloved collie due to money issues.

13. Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008)

The whole family will enjoy this hilarious movie about a Chihuahua that gets dog-napped in Mexico. You’ll recognize the voices of Drew Barrymore and George Lopez as the two main pups, while Jamie Lee Curtis stars as a human.

14. Bolt (2008)

John Travolta and Miley Cyrus star in this animated film about a movie-star dog named Bolt who thinks he actually has superpowers in real life.

15. Air Bud (1997)
