Our Home Boarders Say...

Peter & Irene | Bury

“When we lost our dog, we also lost a friendship circle and mixing in with other dog walkers. Being a Digs for Dogs host family has brought that all back to us and that’s a big benefit for us”.

June | Bolton

“Sadly my husband died last year and following this I then had to have my last dog put down. I’ve had so many dogs over the years and of late I’ve been so lonely that becoming a home boarder has actually changed my life”.

The Howard Family | Stockport

“We love being a part of Digs for Dogs. Being a home boarder allows our family to enjoy all the benefits of having a dog at home but without the full-time responsibility of owning one ourselves.”

Who We Are and What We Do

Digs for Dogs is an award-winning pet services business offering dog owners the perfect alternative to kennels, whilst they are away on holiday or business.

We’ve built a community of committed and devoted dog lovers who provide a perfect home from home environment for their doggy guests.

All of our home boarders do what they do simply because they love dogs. Some have their own dogs, while others who have owned pets in the past now choose to just care for an occasional house guest.

Everyone’s a winner! Our home boarders get to spend time with a dog, and our dog’s enjoy a happy holiday stay, with one to one care and lots of love and attention.

If you’re interested in becoming a home boarder, we’ll first meet up with you to discuss your previous experience with pets, and find out about the types of dogs you would be happy to board. This ensures that we only ever offer you a dog that suits your current lifestyle and you’ll only need to accept guests as and when you wish to.

The dogs will get to follow their normal daily routines, with their regular food, walks and favourite toys. You will be provided with a detailed profile of your guest as well as everything they need for their stay.

Our dog sitters need to be true dog lovers! We are looking for people who are genuinely passionate about  dogs and have experience looking after them.

Don't just take our word for it...

Health & Wellbeing

Health and Fitness

Having a dog around can improve your fitness as it encourages you to get out walking more. Even playing with your dog indoors, when you’d otherwise be lying on the sofa, loosens those limbs, gets your blood pumping, and stimulates your mind. Staying fit and active, whatever your age, helps to prevent a whole host of illnesses, and dogs give people that motivation to keep moving.

Wellbeing

Anything that encourages you to get out and explore the great outdoors helps to improve mental wellbeing, and in many cases dog ownership does this. But, again, even when you’re inside, snuggles on the sofa can reduce stress and lift your mood due to the endorphins that it releases (these are the same chemicals that help to reduce blood pressure). That’s why pets have long been used to provide therapy to those in hospitals, care homes and hospices.

Pets can really make a house a home, and we understand that although many people love the idea of owning a dog, they just can’t commit to the full-time responsibility. That’s why our home boarding service works so well!
